First AGLL Majors Fall Ball Scrimmage

Corey and Eric's teams played their first fall ball scrimmage this afternoon.

Hard working moms for AGLL

Our beautiful AG moms, Alece Hon, Amber Gildehaus, and Carol Carlson (left to right), working hard to beautify our AGLL property.  Please come out and help if you can.  Weeds have overgrown a bit with the summer rains and in need of trimming.

We also have several capital improvement projects, such as expanding the Minor dugouts, demo of the Rookie snackbar and reconstruction of the field shed, floor improvements to the Major batting cage, among others, we could use help with.  Please inquire with Dennis or Pete if you can help with time, talent, and/or material or cash donations.

Much thanks as always.

Fall Coach Pitch TBall Registration Now Live

Great news! District 33 has added Coach Pitch Tee Ball to the Fall 2015 season.
AGLL is now accepting registration for the 2015 Fall Ball Coach Pitch Tee Ball season.  Space is limited and closing soon!  to sign up for Fall Ball, please visit the AGLL website at Coach Pitch TBall Registration Link and follow the registration process.

Don't miss out on an opportunity to play more baseball.  Fall Ball is a fun way to improve skills for the Spring Season, meet new friends, and play ball against other Little Leagues.

If you haven't already signed up, do so now.  If you know someone that hasn't, please encourage them to do so before it is too late.

And don't forget, tomorrowSunday, August 23 from 9am to 2pm we will be holding a work party to spruce up our fields and property before we begin hosting other Leagues during Fall Ball.  Please come out and help other volunteers work around the property.  We need your help and can't do it alone!

We look forward to seeing you on the field and in the stands,

AGLL

AGLL Work Party; Sunday, August 23rd

As you can see from the picture below, (not Pete Famolaro's minor fall ball practice :), the weeds have come back in full force due to summer rains.
We are in desperate need of a work party to make AGLL presentable as we host games this fall.
Please come out on Sunday, August 23rd and give a little bit of time to help clean up our fields and the surrounding areas.
Time: 9:00 AM-2:00 PM
It is a great opportunity to not only help AGLL but spend some time with friends and meet new ones.
Plus it is great exercise :)

Rookie Fall Ball Practice Begins

Manager Brent Eidson's Rookie fall ball team held their first practice tonight. For some, it was their first baseball experience at the rookies level.

New Bat Standards Coming in 2018

"USA Baseball, the national governing body for the sport of baseball in the U.S., in conjunction with participating national member organizations announced today the decision to adopt a new method for measuring bat performance in the testing of youth bats. Informed by the research of leading scientists on the USA Baseball Bat Study Committee, and supported by its NMOs, -- including the American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC), Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), Babe Ruth Baseball/Cal Ripken Baseball, Dixie Youth Baseball, Little League Baseball and PONY Baseball -- USA Baseball has concluded that recent advancements in science, engineering, technology, and the materials available to fabricate non-wood bats, now allow the manufacturers to construct youth bats that can perform at a wood-like level through the entire range of lengths and weights of youth bats."

Fall Ball is Almost Here

Since the end of May, AGLL has held registration for fall ball. 90 registrants later and we are ready to begin. AGLL will have a total of 8 fall ball teams. 2 rookies, 4 minors, and 2 majors. Scrimmages will begin around the end of August and official D33 games will begin September 13th.

AGLL Summer Scrimmage is a Hit!

AGLL just concluded its 2nd annual summer scrimmage league. Held in the month of July, sixty players enjoyed sandlot style scrimmages in the rookie, minors and majors divisions. A great time was held by all and we got to welcome new friends to AGLL.
